I went swimming yesterday morning for the first time in months. It felt so lovely to just stretch out into the water. Invigorating.
All I need to do now is get back into the habit of it.
Never easy is it.

killing the runners
It's getting closer to the big 10k Valentines Day run. In preparation I'm running around 3 times a week now. I was consistently doing 30 minutes per run but over the last week or two have stretched that out to 40 minutes and even managed a full 60 minutes without stopping.
Alien I love you.
My weight has levelled off which is funny but I don't really mind that much. My runners have reached their end point though, I'm beginning to feel the pounding in my legs. I had often heard people talk about how you will know when you need new runners. The whole concept of how important a well supported pair of runners are often seemed like retail crap to me. Not anymore. Having had a good pair and using them regularly I can now see what they were protecting my body from.
How far I have come.

running .. again
Last week I entered for a new race. I've been kinda putting my hands over my ears and singing la la at the lack of cycling and swimming so feel the need to go mad on the running.
Anyway, I've entered the Valentine's 10k in London. It will be my second 10k and my second event in Battersea Park. Who knew I would end up back there so quickly after the Santa Run - thankfully this time without the Santa suit.
I'm looking forward to the run - in that new year new challenge way. What can I say, I have nowhere left to hide.
